Geographical distribution: Brazil and Argentina. Records northern to Brazil and Argentina are highly questionable and not considered here.

Distribution in Brazil: Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South regions (MT, BA, MG, ES, SP, RJ, PR, SC) ( Souza et al. 2006; Ribeiro 2007).

Comments: Ribeiro (2005), based on material collected in “Lombardia, Santa Teresa,” recorded the species from Rio de Janeiro Municipality. However, this locality is now known to correspond to [Nova] Lombardia, Santa Teresa Municipality, ES; not Santa Teresa neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro Municipality, RJ. The record from Rio de Janeiro Municipality must be, therefore, ignored .
