Nerthra raptoria (Fabricius, 1803) View in CoL
Geographical distribution: Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, and Argentina.
Distribution in Brazil: North, Central-West, Southeast and South regions (PA, AM, MT, MG, RJ, PR, RS) ( Mayr 1866; Stål 1860, 1868; Melin 1929; Todd 1955, 1957b; Nieser 1975; Schnack & Estévez 1979; Nieser & Melo 1997; Souza et al. 2006).
Comments: As mentioned for Gelastocoris amazonensis and G. hungerfordi , the record cited as “Rio Branco” by Todd (1957b), is located on RR or AM, northern Brazil. Nieser (1975) listed the occurrence of the species on BA, but it was not possible to trace where this record was originally published. Because Nieser (1975) has not examined material from this state, the record is not considered here.
