Geographical distribution: Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay.
Distribution in Brazil: North, Central-West, Southeast, and South regions (PA, MT, GO, MG, SP, RJ, SC, RS) ( Montandon 1899; Melin 1929; Todd 1955; Nieser 1977b; Gianuca 1997; Nieser & Melo 1997; Melo & Nieser 2004).
Comments: Montandon (1899) reported a specimen from “Nord de Goyaz,” collected by Laporte on 1847. Such specimen might have been collected on the North Region (TO) or on the Central-West Region (GO).
