Geographical distribution: Brazil. This species was recorded from Argentina by Hungerford (1948), but due to misidentification according to Bachmann (1979).
Distribution in Brazil: Northeast and Southeast regions (BA, MG, ES, SP, RJ) ( Hungerford 1928; Lundblad 1929b; Jaczewski 1931; Hungerford 1948; Nieser & Melo 1997; Ribeiro et al. 1998).
