Geographical distribution: Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.
Distribution in Brazil: North and Central-West regions (PA, AM, MT) ( Nieser 1975; Heckman 1998).
Comments: Nieser and Melo (1997) recorded a single female of P. politus from MG, but later Melo and Nieser (2004) affirmed that the same female could be in fact a representative of P. binotulatus nigriculus. For this reason, the record from MG is not considered here.
