Geographical distribution: Brazil.
Comments: The type-series of this species is labeled “ Brèsil ” and “ Brasilien,” and no distributional details are known concerning it. Hungerford (1934) expressed doubts concerning the existence of N. nigra and the authenticity of the labels, since he examined many Notonecta from various places in Brazil, but none seemed to be a representative of this species.
