Geographical distribution: Brazil.
Distribution in Brazil: Southeast Region (MG, ES, RJ) ( Spinola 1837; Kirkaldy 1904; Nieser & Melo 1997; Vianna & Melo 2003; Pelli et al. 2006; Souza et al. 2006; Ribeiro et al. 2010).
Comments: There is no reason to believe that all specimens of E. brasiliensis occurring in Brazil are indeed representatives of only one species, because external and genitalic morphology of several specimens collected by us do not agree with the original description of this species. It seems that this species is in fact a complex of species.
