Measurement. Male, 3.4 mm (including wings).

Body yellowish ( Figs 18, 22 View FIGURES 17–32 ). Face with front and inner parts of gena black-brown, dark brown transverse streaks on brown postclypeus, anteclypeus and lorum dirty yellow, remaining parts yellowish ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 17–32 ). Vertex testaceous near coronal suture. Pronotum with a central oval patch and 2 pairs of lateral patches black-brown. Scutum mostly testaceous with central area beige, triangles dark brown. Scutellum with both sides and central area respectively red ochre and yellowish ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 17–32 ). Forewing infuscate with 3 brown patches on clavus, one at inner basal angle and the other 2 respectively on center of commissural margin and distal apex; a brownish band extended from near base of corium to cross vein along claval suture; brochosome field yellowish ( Figs 18, 22 View FIGURES 17–32 , 106 View FIGURES 106–113 ).

Abdominal apodemes reaching end of 5th abdominal sternite. Male pygofer side with 2 bands of setae, one fine setae band on central part and the other band of long fine setae near posterior margin; a long digitiform appendage arising from posteroventral margin and directed dorsad ( Figs 107, 108 View FIGURES 106–113 ). Subgenital plate with apical 1/3 slightly expanded and bent mesad nearly at right angle; a small protrusion at bend bearing 3 peg-like setae apically ( Figs 109, 110 View FIGURES 106–113 ). Paramere with caudal end arched and subapical protrusion small and heel-like ( Figs 109, 111 View FIGURES 106–113 ). Connective with stem nearly as long as lateral arms and central lobe distinct ( Fig. 109 View FIGURES 106–113 ). Aedeagal shaft arched with a broad lamellar extension dorsally, digitiform ventral appendage long and directed downwards ( Figs 112, 113 View FIGURES 106–113 ).

Specimens examined. Holotype: ♂, CHINA, Sichuan Province, Moxi , 1600m, Alnus nepalensis , 5-XI-1999, coll. I. Dworakowska. Paratype: 15♂ 2♀, same data as holotype ; 2♂ 1♀, CHINA, Sichuan Province, Mianning , 1650m, Alnus nepalensis , 8-XI-1999, coll. I. Dworakowska ; 1♂, CHINA, Yunnan Province, Xinzhu , 2500m, Alnus nepalensis , 15-XI-1999, coll. I. Dworakowska.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from Greek word “gauros which means “proud, referring to the developed dorsal extension of the aedeagal shaft ( Fig. 112 View FIGURES 106–113 ).

Notes. The new species resembles Agnesiella (Draberiella) jammuensis , but differs in the male pygofer side with the digitiform appendage longer and bent to the dorsal margin at nearly a right angle ( Fig. 108 View FIGURES 106–113 ), and in the aedeagal shaft with a broader dorsal lamellar extension ( Fig. 112 View FIGURES 106–113 ).
