Material studied. Holotype ( Cameroon): ♂: five original labels ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23 – 26 ): "Oku 2500 m / Ft de Podocarpus / 5-9- XI-75 " [white, checkered paper, handwritten], "lavages de / terre" [white, checkered paper, handwritten], "Mission Cameroun / C.N.R.S.RCP 318 / Octobre-Novembre 1975" [blue, printed], " Pseudoeudesis / camerunensis / m. / det.H.Franz" [white, handwritten and printed], " Holotypus " [red, handwritten] ( MNHN). Paratype: ♀, same collecting data as holotype ( MNHN).
Diagnosis. Eyes present, rudimentary; aedeagus in ventral view with sides in subapical region concave, endophallus with bell-shaped structure located in subapical region, with two lateral elongated and pointed sclerites of similar length.
Description. Body of male ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) elongate and slender, convex, with moderately long appendages, BL 0.78 mm; pigmentation light brown; vestiture of setae slightly lighter than cuticle.
Head ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) in dorsal view round, strongly convex, broadest near middle, behind eyes, HL 0.13 mm, HW 0.15 mm; tempora much longer than eyes; vertex short and broad, strongly convex, anteriorly confluent with frons; frons subtrapezoidal, strongly convex between eyes and rapidly declining anteriorly; supraantennal tubercles indistinct; eyes rudimentary, barely noticeable, each composed of one or two tiny ommatidia only slightly darker than surrounding cuticle. Vertex and frons with inconspicuous fine punctures and short, sparse, suberect setae. Antennae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) moderately long, slender, with three terminal antennomeres enlarged, AnL 0.30 mm; antennomeres I and II strongly elongate, III–VIII each slightly transverse, IX–X distinctly broader than long, XI much shorter than IX and X together, about as long as broad, with blunt apex.
Pronotum ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) in dorsal view oval, broadest near anterior third, PL 0.23 mm, PW 0.20 mm; anterior and posterior margins weakly rounded, lateral margins strongly and nearly evenly rounded; base lacking pits. Pronotal disc with fine and inconspicuous punctures; setae on dorsal part short, sparse and suberect, sides with dense bristles.
Elytra oval, broadest slightly anterior to middle, strongly narrowing both anteriorly and posteriorly; EL 0.43 mm, EW 0.28 mm, EI 1.55; basal impressions, subhumeral lines and humeral calli absent. Punctures and setae similar to those on pronotal disc. Hind wings absent.
Legs ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ) moderately long and slender, unmodified.
Aedeagus ( Figs 19–20 View FIGURES 15 – 22 ) thin-walled, elongate, in ventral view drop-shaped, with narrowly subtriangular apical portion of median lobe and concave sides in subapical region, AeL 0.18 mm; endophallus with subapical bellshaped structure and two elongate sclerites of similar lengths running parallel in basal part and strongly diverging in subapical region; parameres long and slender, each with one apical seta.
Female ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Similar to male; BL 0.80 mm; HL 0.13 mm, HW 0.15 mm, AnL 0.33 mm; PL 0.23 mm, PW 0.19 mm; EL 0.450 mm, EW 0.30 mm, EI 1.50.
Distribution. Northwest Cameroon.
Remarks. In the original description Franz (1985) stated that the type series was composed of three specimens, all from Oku; the holotype male and one paratype deposited at MNHN, the other paratype in the Franz Collection. The two specimens preserved in Paris are conspecific. However, the one from NHMW is a female belonging in the same genus, but showing a different body shape. It most likely belongs to a different species.
