Note. Due to its pedipalpal proportions (femur 2.7, patella 2.7, hand with pedicel 2.1 and chela with pedicel 3.5 times longer than broad) ( Beier 1962), the male from Lago Futalaufquen, referred as to Asterochernes kuscheli kuscheli Beier, 1964 by Ceballos & Rosso de Ferradás (2008a), probably belongs to A. kuscheli patagonicus Beier. The nominate subspecies seems to be restricted to Chile.
