Sakencyrtus Hayat, 1981: 27 View in CoL . Type species: Sakencyrtus mirus Hayat View in CoL , by monotypy and original designation.
Diagnosis. Female. Head subprognathous, distinctly broader than mesosoma; frontovertex 0.34–0.47× head width. Mandible with three acute teeth. Maxillary palp 3- or 4-segmented, labial palp 2- or 3-segmented. Antenna ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 3–9 ) with pedicel longer than all funicular segments individually; clava subequal or slightly longer than preceding three funicular segments combined. Mesosoma flattened; pronotum, in dorsal view, shorter than mesoscutum; mesoscutum ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 10–14 ) ‘saddle-shaped’ with notauli present in anterior half; propodeum large, medially elongate, 0.5× scutellum length. Forewing at most reaching ½ length of gaster in brachypterous forms; in macropterous forms forewing about 3× as long as broad, with brown patch behind submarginal vein and a large patch in the middle; marginal vein 2× as long as stigmal vein. Gaster with hypopygium extending to or a little beyond apex of gaster; ovipositor not or slightly exserted beyond apex of gaster.
Male. Macropterous forms of male not yet found. However, brachypterous male is similar to female except sexual dimorphism, and with distinctly longer flagellar segments.
Hosts. Unknown [? ex Diaspidids on Acacia , but erroneous record].
Species and Distribution. World species, 4. India, 3 species, including the new species here described. One species from China and one undetermined species from Australia ( Noyes & Hayat, 1984).
