COMMENTS: Hartert cited the unique date of the holotype in the original description and gave the range of mahrattarum as ‘‘the Indian Peninsula, from the Vindhya Range southwards, and Ceylon.’’ Paratypes in AMNH are: Ceylon, AMNH 680521 About AMNH , Cotton Estate , 1866, by Samuel Bligh, from the Holdsworth Collection ; AMNH 680523 About AMNH , N. In the original description, Hartert gave the number ‘‘182’’ for the holotype; however, this number was Holdsworth’s number for the species and appears on each of the above Holdsworth specimens.
