Holotype:— PERU. Madre de Dios: Tambopata Reserve, 26 km S of Puerto Maldonado on E side of Río Tambopata , 12 Nov 1979, G.S. Hartshorn 2421 ( MO [barcode MO-2958528 image!]; isotypes: CR, F [barcode V0421499F image!], MO [barcode MO-1069092 image!], USM) .

Lectotype (designated by Woodson in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 38(2): 154, 156. 1951):— BRAZIL. Acre: Seringal Auristella, Rio Acre, Apr 1911, E. H. G. Ule 9700 ( K [barcode K000587675 image!]; isolectotype: MG [barcode MG014536!]).
Notes — Gentry (1984) indicated the gathering Hartshorn 2421 from the herbarium MO as the holotype of A. tambopatense . Based on this information and the materials analyzed, we consider that the two herbarium sheets with this information in MO (MO barcodes MO-1069092 and MO-2958528) are duplicates since one sheet was identified as “ holotype ” (MO barcode MO-2958528) and the other as “isotype” (MO barcode MO-1069092) and both received different voucher numbers (ICN article 8.3; Turland et al. 2018).
