Creontiades marginatus Poppius, 1915a: 23 View in CoL (as new species); Carvalho 1959: 75 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 745 (catalog), 2002– 2013 (online catalog).

Material examined. Type specimens: lectotype ♀ of Creontiades marginatus (present designation): INDONESIA: SUMATRA: “Panscherang-Pisang”, x.1890 – iii.1891, E. Modigliani leg., type 10054 ( MZHF) [The specimen bears the Poppius’ original handwritten identification label with the mention “ Creontiades marginatus n. sp. ” and a second label with the mention “Museo Civ. Genova”]. Paralectotypes of both sexes: same data than the female lectotype ( MZHF).

Diagnosis. Uniformly dark brown to black. Head brown. First antennal segment dark brown to black, other segments yellowish to brown, second segment in addition with two light yellow rings, one sub-basal and other subapical, third segment basally yellow. Sulcus of vertex deep. Pronotal collar yellow. Pronotal disk brown to dark yellow greenish with black lateral margins and raised callosities. Legs yellow with dark red spots and dark spines. Scutellum black. Hemelytra, including cuneus, dark brown with some short, recumbent, white setae and punctation very reduced but very dense. Membrane light brown.

Discussion. The type of O. marginatus conforms to our diagnosis of Orientomiris on the basis of its external anatomy; hence we suggest the new combination. The female lectotype, originally from MCSN ( Poppius 1915a), was never sent back to Genoa. The accurate number of specimens originally included in the type-series is not specified by Poppius (1915a), although he described both sexes of his new species. Accordingly, we apply Recommendation 73F of the Code (ICZN 1999) to determine the status of type-series specimens.
