( Figure 54 View FIGURES 51 – 58 )

Megacoelum tagalicum Poppius, 1915a: 30 View in CoL –31 (as n. sp., with a short diagnosis of the new variety bicolor); Carvalho 1959: 163 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 836 (catalog), 2002–2013 (online catalog).

Material examined. Type specimen: Holotype ♀ by monotypy: PHILIPPINE ISLANDS: LUZON: Los Baños, Baker, type 10095 ( MZHF).

Diagnosis. Body rugose, elongate ovate in outline; finely sericeous on hemelytra, the setae white, suberect. Sulcus of vertex narrow. Hemelytral punctation shallow, relatively dense particularly on clavus. Head reddish-brown, eyes red posteriorly, black medio-anteriorly. First antennal segment yellow basally, dark brown medially and apically. Second antennal segment black basally, yellow to orange in distal 1/3, reddish-brown more apically. Third and fourth segments yellowish basally, red brown medially and apically. Pronotum including collar orange brown, area anterior to calli dark brown to black. Legs reddish-yellow to reddish-brown with yellow to reddish spines. Scutellum and hemelytra orange, the cuneus and apex of endocorium dark red. Membrane brown. Genitalia unknown.

Discussion. The type of P. tagalica conforms to our diagnosis of Poppiocapsidea on the basis of its external anatomy; hence we suggest the new combination. Analysis of additional specimens, particularly of the males, will enable confirmation of the generic placement and the comparison with the other Poppiocapsidea species. Five other specimens are available in MZHF collection; the female type of P. tagal ica var bicolor Poppius, 1915 and four non type specimens, not cited by Poppius (1915a).
