Type species. Notopropebela pustulata View in CoL sp. nov.
Etymology. Notopropebela means Propebela from the south (′ notos ̍ referring to the south in Greek). The genus name is feminine.
Diagnosis. Shell rhomboid in profile, small (up to 10.9 mm); protoconch small, smooth, globose, paucispiral of 1½–1¾ whorls; teleoconch of 3 whorls; axial ornamentation of regularly spaced riblets; spiral ornamentation of variable cords. Operculum absent. Radula of semi-enrolled marginal teeth, with basal spur and ligament present.
Species included. N. profunda Castellanos and Landoni, 1993 comb. nov., N. pustulata sp. nov. and N. petu sp. nov.
