Subgenus Opisthotrichomyia Bravo View in CoL

Opisthotrichomyia Bravo, 2001: 50.

Type species: Trichomyia brevitarsa (Rapp, 1945) View in CoL , by original designation.

Comments. Bravo (2001) proposed this subgenus to include species of Trichomyia with gonocoxites having a posteromedial lobe on which various bristles are inserted. This subgenus is currently known only from Panama and Brazil.

Species included. T. brevitarsa (Rapp) ; T. festiva Bravo ; T. fluminensis Bravo ; T. nocturna Bravo ; T. riodocensis Alexander, Freitas & Quate and T. vargasi (Barretto) .
