Trichomyia cerdosa Araújo & Bravo View in CoL sp. nov.
( Figs. 20A–H View FIGURES 20 A – H )
Diagnosis. Arm of gonocoxites S-shaped in lateral view with a tuft of elongated apical bristles; one pair of elongated projections in the aedeagal complex with lanceolate apex; ejaculatory apodeme short, 0.3 times the length of gonostylus; cercus with apical bristles, spatulate.
Description. Male. Head subcircular in frontal view. Antenna incomplete in the studied specimens; scape subcylindrical as long as the subspherical pedicel; basal flagellomeres pyriform, asymmetric ( Fig. 20A View FIGURES 20 A – H ); 13th flagellomere subcylindrical with terminal apiculus separated by suture ( Fig. 20H View FIGURES 20 A – H ); ascoids 1.6 times the length of flagellomere ( Fig. 20C View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Palpus with three segments; 1st segment with sensilla in depressed pit on medial surface; palpus formula 1.0:0.6:0.5 ( Fig. 20B View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Wing. R4+5 incomplete at base; r-m and m-cu absent ( Fig. 20D View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Male terminalia: Hypandrium fused with gonocoxites. Arm of gonocoxites S-shaped in lateral view with a tuft of elongate apical bristles ( Fig. 20F View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Gonostylus articulated ventrally to gonocoxite, almost as long as the lobe of the gonocoxite in lateral view, bare ( Figs. 20F, 20G View FIGURES 20 A – H ). One pair of elongate projections in the aedeagal complex, with lanciform apex. Aedeagus ending before the apex of projections in the aedeagal complex ( Fig. 20F View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Ejaculatory apodeme in lateral view short, 0.3 times the length of lobe of gonostylus. Epandrium pilose, longer than wide. Cercus pilose, piriform in lateral view with four apical bristles, spatulate ( Fig. 20G View FIGURES 20 A – H ). Hypoproct with apical micropilosity ( Fig. 20E View FIGURES 20 A – H ).
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. Brazil, Bahia, Ituberá municipality, 12.VI.2002, holotype ♂, F. Bravo ( MZFS); 2 paratypes: 1 ♂, same locality and collector as holotype, 01.VII.2003 ( MZFS); 1 ♂, Brazil, Bahia, Cachoeira, Fazenda Villa Rial, F. Bravo leg. 24.V.2004 ( MZFS).
