Genus Neelus Folsom, 1896
Diagnosis. Presence of dermastra. Labrum with anterior process. Ant. III and IV separate. Trunk with 12 + 12 τchaetae shaped as trichobothria, 1 + 1 tubular s-chaetae (s1) and 3 + 3 s-chaetae (s2, s3 and s3’). Sensory fields well-developed with special inner chaetae, sf6 with 2 guard chaetae. Abd. IV sternum with 1 + 1 neosminthuroid chaetae. Distal articular process of manubrium with convex tip. Dens without median articular process. Unguis with strong Bp. Tenaculum with 3 + 3 teeth.
