Type species: Wankeliella peterseni Rusek, 1975 .
Diagnosis. Body slender, habitus similar to the genus Mesaphorura , without pigment, antennal segment IV with 4 thickened sensilla, 2 subapical sensory rods, antennal segment III with two large sensory clubs, bent towards one another and two small sensory rods, postantennal organ with 6–7 large vesicles arranged in 2 rows, and pseudocelli of type I, abdominal segment VI with crescentic ridges .
