Originally described from Argentina. This species is also recorded from Paraguay ( Oliva 1996); however, this needs confirmation as there is a synonymy dispute between Oliva (1996) and Makhan (1998). Two records from Peru are given below.

Material examined (32): PERU: Loreto, 15km from Ucayali on R. Calleria, Colonia Calleria, 10–20.xi.1961, leg. B. Malkin (1 NMNH); Pucallpa, Lago Yarina Cocha , 11.iv.1969, leg. P. & P. Spangler (31 NMNH) .
