Distribution in China. Beijing, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hebei, Hong Kong, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Xizang, Yunnan, Zhejiang.
Host plants. Arundinaria sp., Bambusa blumeana , Dendrocalamus brandisii , D. minor , Indosasa levigata .

Biology. Living in groups on stem of the host beneath leaf sheath.
Remarks. The record of C. bambusae by Tang (1992) on Phragmites sp. from Qian Qi of Nei Mongol (=Inner Mongolia) in China was a misidentification of Chaetococcus turanicus Borchsenius.
