Habitat. Collected in relatively large and permanent pools on the wadi bottom with dense littoral vegetation and partially running water (e.g. Fig. 2 View Figs 1–2. 1 ), or in a shallow vegetated puddle under a livestock watering place.

Distribution. Afrotropical species occurring in whole Sub-Saharan Africa, north-easterly reaching Yemen and southern Oman in the Arabian Peninsula (cf. NILSSON 2005).
