Distribution. India: Uttarakhand ( Mathur 1975), West Bengal ( Mani 1948, 1973, as Phylloplecta sp.).
Host plant. Mallotus philippensis (Euphorbiaceae) .
Comments. Mani (1948: 79) suggested that his Phylloplecta sp. 1 ‘is probably Megatrioza pallida Uichanco … described as causing small pit galls on the under side of leaves of M. philippinensis … in Philippines, Java, Sumatra and Salajar group of Islands’. T. pallida and T. pitformis are morphologically similar but, according to the description of Uichanco (1919, 1921), the former is larger with wider forewings.
