( Figures 116–118 View FIGURES 110 – 118. 110 – 112 , 290–294 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 , 303 View FIGURE 303 )
Diagnosis. This species is close to S. obesa in same dorsal color pattern, but can be distinguished from the latter by distinctly different male genitalia ( Figs 286–288, 291–293 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ).
This species is also similar to S. maolanensis in male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the latter as follows: elytra with 12 small black spots ( Fig. 116 View FIGURES 110 – 118. 110 – 112 ), and penis guide longer than paramere ( Fig. 292 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ). In S. maolanensis , elytra with 4 large black spots ( Fig. 74 View FIGURES 74 – 82. 74 – 76 ), and penis guide slightly shorter than paramere ( Figs 224 View FIGURES 217 – 226. 217 – 221 ).
Description. TL: 2.47–3.07 mm, TW: 2.21–2.84 mm, TH: 1.25–1.68 mm, TL/TW: 1.08–1.12; PL/PW: 0.40– 0.42; EL/EW: 0.84–0.90; HW/TW: 0.33; PW/TW: 0.60.
Head yellowish brown, with mouthparts yellow. Pronotum yellowish brown, scutellum dark brown. Elytra yellowish brown, each elytron with 6 moderately large, black rounded spots disposed as follows: one resting on the humeral callus (touching basal margin); one resting on disc slightly posteriad of half length of elytron; two resting on 2/5 and 4/5 lateral margin (not touching margin, the diameter of the spot equal to its distance from margin), one resting on 2/5 length of elytral suture (almost touching suture); one just before sutural apex ( Figs 116–118 View FIGURES 110 – 118. 110 – 112 ). Underside yellow, except meso- and metaventrite yellowish brown.
Body almost circular in outline, hemispherical, shiny and glabrous. Head frontal punctures fine and shallow, with short sparse setae, interocular distance of eyes 0.64x head width ( Fig. 118 View FIGURES 110 – 118. 110 – 112 ).
Pronotal punctures fine and dense, 1.0–2.0 diameters apart. Elytral punctures very fine and sparse, distinctly smaller than those on pronotum, 2.0–5.0 diameters apart, with a row of large punctures along the suture. Elytral margins moderately explanate, entirely visible from above.
Prosternal surface mat and shagreened, punctures inconspicuous. Mesoventral surface shining, punctures fine, shallow. Metaventrite covered by coarse and dense punctures distributed. Elytral epipleuron broad, complete to apex, feebly foveate to accommodate femoral tips of hind legs. Wings well-developed.
Male genitalia: Penis short and stout, strongly curved at base, capsule inconspicuous, apex slightly membranous and strongly curved ( Fig. 291 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ); tegmen with penis guide distinctly longer than parameres, in lateral view stout, widest at base, gradually narrowing to apex ( Fig. 292 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ); penis guide in ventral view subparallel along its 6/7 length, then strongly narrowed, apex finger-shape ( Fig. 293 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ); parameres very slender, almost straight, with short sparse setae apically.
Female genitalia: Ovipositor elongate and narrowly triangular, styli inconspicuous ( Fig. 294 View FIGURES 285 – 294. 285 – 289 ).
