Diagnosis. The species is one of the smaller members of the Cis pacificus group. It is characterised by thebroad lateral pronotal margins, relatively widely separated pronotal punctures and well-developed frontoclypeal horns in the male.

Description. With characters of the genus. Body oblong, moderately convex, with sides of pronotum distinctly rounded, sides of elytra slightly so. Length = 1.00–1.20 (1.10 ± 0.06, n = 12) mm. BL/EW 1.97–2.14 (2.07); GD/ EW = 0.77–0.86 (0.82). Colour of head and pronotum reddish-orange, elytra yellowish-brown, undersides usually yellowish-brown, legs and antennal funicle yellow, antennal club darker; surfaces shiny. Dorsal vestiture single, consisting of very short, fine hairs, which are barely longer than the punctures from which they arise and not visible under lower power. Frons and vertex flat in female, deeply concave in male, with vertexal sex patch (Fig. 49). Longest eye diameter 0.25 times as great as head width. Frontoclypeal ridge in both sexes complete at middle and produced and elevated laterally, forming a pair of very short, rounded plates in female, and longer, subtriangular to rounded plates in male, sometimes longer than wide and separated by slightly less than a basal width. Antennomere length ratio: 4.25: 3.13: 3.00: 2.00: 1.25: 1.37: 1.00: 2.75: 2.75: 4.75; length/width ratios: 1.36, 1.25, 2.40, 1.33, 1.00, 0.85, 0.57. 0.85, 0.73, 1.19. Apical maxillary palpomere 2.00 times as long as wide, widest at about middle, one side evenly rounded, the other subapically sinuate, apex obliquely truncate. Labial palps separated by 0.15 times basal width of one; ratio of palpomere lengths 1.00: 1.75: 1.00, apical palpomere narrower than preapical one, which is slightly inflated. Male gula 0.62 times as wide as head, densely filled with micropores, the pores extending anteriorly onto submentum as a very broad, apically truncate patch (Fig. 50); female gula 0.49 times as wide as head. Pronotum 0.73–0.82 (0.78) times as long as wide, widest at about middle in both sexes; anterior edge strongly rounded in both sexes; lateral margins broad, easily visible for their entire lengths from above with smooth edges; anterior angles produced forward and rounded; posterior angles rounded; posterior edge with very narrow but complete marginal bead; disc evenly convex; punctation moderately fine and sparse, punctures usually separated by one to two diameters; interspaces smooth and shiny. Prosternum in front of coxae as long as mid length of procoxal cavity, moderately tumid with median longitudinal carina, prosternal process 0.55 times as wide as mid length of coxal cavity, rounded at apex; procoxal cavities very narrowly open; postcoxal process narrowly acute. Elytra 1.26–1.34 (1.30) times as long as wide and 1.64–1.76 (1.70) times as long as pronotum; punctation dual and confused, with megapunctures about the same size as pronotal punctures, the interspaces smooth and shiny. Mesocoxal cavities separated by about 0.10 times shortest diameter of a cavity. Metaventrite slightly convex; discrimen about 0.72 times length of ventrite; shortest distance between meso- and metacoxal cavities about 1.39 times length of abdominal ventrite 1. Outer apical angle of protibia in both sexes with fine tooth. First abdominal ventrite 1.62 times as long as 2nd; sex patch in male about 0.22 times as long as ventrite 1, located at middle, circular, without distinct rim. Sides of sternite VIII straight and converging, its apex weakly, broadly and abruptly emarginate, with indistinct, more or less rounded angles. Pregenital ring relatively broad with rounded apex. Tegmen (Fig. 62) 2.50 times as long as wide, widest at apex, sides slightly converging to basal fourth, then gradually diverging to subapex where they curve mesally; apex deeply emarginate forming two slender lobes, each of which ends in a mesally directly narrowly rounded lobe, at the base of which is a long seta; base broadly, unevenly subangulate. Penis 1.13 times as long as tegmen and 6.1 times as long as wide, sides parallel for the basal three-fourths, then gradually converging to rounded; base more or less truncate. Ovipositor (Fig. 80) 3.64 times as long as wide, widest at base with sides subparallel but gradually converging at apical third; paraprocts as long as gonocoxites, longitudinally oriented; gonocoxites 1.87 times as long as their combined widths; proximal lobe slightly elongate, not clearly subdivided; distal lobe about 2.5 times as long as proximal lobe gradually narrowed from base to rounded apex; gonostylus 0.22 times as long as distal lobe and 5 times as long as wide.

Distribution. Known only from northern QLD.

Biology. Collected in basidiomes of Phellinus sp., Antrodiella liebmanni (= Rigidoporus liebmanni ), Rigidoporus lineatus (= R. zonalis ), Tyromyces grammocephalus , T. spatulatus and Trichaptum sp.

Etymology. Derived from the Latin latus, meaning wide, and the Latin marginatus, meaning furnished with a border, and referring to the wide lateral pronotal margins.
