Holotype. Lost (not found in MNNC), Santiago and Colchagua . Neotype. Male ( MCCC), Chile, Santiago, La Obra .
Distribution. Chile. Región de Atacama: Huasco Province (Carrizal Bajo). Región de Coquimbo: Elqui Province (Tres Cruces, Vicuña), Choapa Provinve (n. Huentelauquen), Limarí Province (NP Fray Jorge, Socos). Región de Valparaíso: Los Andes Province (Río Blanco), Marga Marga Province (Colliguay, Quilpué, Limache, Recreo), Petorca Province (Los Molles), Quillota Province (Cuesta El Melón, Ocoa), San Antonio Province (Qda. de Cordova, Quebrada San Jerónimo), Valparaíso Province (El Salto, Laguna Verde, Mantahua, Peñuelas, Playa Ancha, Quebrada Verde, Valparaíso). Región Metropolitana de Santiago: Chacabuco Province (Caleu, Cuesta La Dormida, Rungue), Cordillera Province (El Canelo, El Principal, El Volcán, La Obra, Lo Curro, Qda. Comments. Bernardi (1973: 247) cited this species as distributed in Peru and Chile (from Tarapacá to Talca). We consider this geographic distribution as erroneous, as for this species there is not any record northern to Huasco Province (Region de Atacama) in Chile, nor any other record from Peru.
Biology. This species only has been observed to feed on flowers of Quillaja saponaria Molina thanks to citizen scientists’ records.
