Comments. This species inhabits stagnant or slow-flowing waters up to 380 m asl. It was often found amid the same aquatic plants where Sigara (Vermicorixa) lateralis was collected. It was first recorded from Tunisia by Poisson & Gauthier (1927) in the north (Ferryville, Bizerte) and the center (Enfidaville, Kairouan) under the name of Arctocorixa scripta Rambur.
Distribution. It is distributed in Southern Europe, northern Africa and Anatolia, Iraq ( Jansson 1995; Carapezza 1997; Aukema et al. 2013).
