Genus Teredorus Hancock, 1907 View in CoL
Type species: Teredorus stenofrons Hancock, 1907 , by original designation.
Composition. The genus comprises 29 species distributed in South America and the Oriental region ( Hancock, 1907a; Deng et al., 2014). One species is found in Thailand.
Notes. Only the type species of the genus is known from South America ( Peru), while all other species are distributed in the Oriental Region and probably the American and Oriental forms are not congeneric ( Ingrisch, 2001). Moreover, the Oriental species of Teredorus are very similar to representatives of the genus Systolederus (subfamily Metrodorinae ) and may be the members of the latter genus (Deng et al., 2014). Quite possible that species of the genus Zhengitettix (subfamily Scelimeninae ) are also belong to this group.
