Genus Amphibotettix Hancock, 1906 View in CoL

Type species: Amphibotettix longipes Hancock, 1906 , by monotypy.

Composition. Up to now there are three species in the genus, namely A. longipes Hancock, 1906 from Brunei (Borneo), A. abbotti ( Rehn, 1904) from Thailand and A. rosaceus Hancock, 1915 from Myanmar ( Rehn, 1904; Hancock, 1906; Hancock, 1915; Eades et al., 2015). One species is added to the genus (see below).

Notes. Scelimena hafizhaii described from the Malacca peninsula (Mahmood et al., 2007) is characterized by a short cylindrical spine on the anterior margin of the pronotum (“short obtuse horn” in the original description), by the lateral ocelli being situated between the lower third of the eyes (“lower half of eyes” in the original description) and by a long straight spine on the lower side of the lateral lobes of the pronotum. Such a combination of characters is typical for Amphibotettix . Therefore this species is transferred from Scelimena to Amphibotettix and a new combination is proposed: Scelimena hafizhaii Mahmmod, Idris et Salman, 2007 = Amphibotettix hafizhaii (Mahmmod, Idris et Salman, 2007) , comb. nov.
