Perrotia Oberthür, 1916 View in CoL

This is a Madagascan endemic genus of about 15 described species, including the synonymised genus Miraja ( Lees et al. 2003) ; considering material collected to date, the radiation is probably at least twice this size (D.C. Lees pers. comm. 2013). Perrotia albiplaga was designated the type species by Evans (1937). Cock et al. (2014) report that P. paroechus (Mabille) is a palm feeder. Here we report on two species of the genus that feed on bamboos.
