Sorbus esserteauiana Koehne (1913: 459) View in CoL
Type:— CHINA. Sichuan: Western Szechuan, Mupin [Baoxing], alt. 2000–2600 m., Jun. & Oct. 1908, E. H. Wilson1128 [A-00040989!, lectotype (designated here); isolectotypes A-00040990!, A-00040991!, K-000758121!]
In the protologue, two gatherings, Wilson 3012 and 1128, were cited and no holotype was indicated, therefore, both are syntypes. McAllister (2005) indicated Wilson 1128 ( A) as the “ holotype ”. Similarly, McAllister’s misuse of the term
“ holotype ” did not achieve the lectotypification of the name. Here I followed the choice of McAllister, and designate A-00040989, one of the three sheets of Wilson 1128 at A as the lectotype.
