Corinnomma moerens Thorell, 1890 View in CoL
Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 , 5B View FIGURE 5
Corinnomma moerens Thorell, 1890: 349 View in CoL (♁).
Type material. Holotype ♁ from INDONESIA: Sumatra (00°35′S, 101°20′E; 149 m a.s.l), September 1878, leg. O. Beccari, repository MSNG (no register number), examined based on photographs. GoogleMaps
Diagnosis. Males of C. moerens are closely related to those of C. javanum in having a short embolus and longitudinally oriented loop of the sperm duct, but can be distinguished from the latter species by the embolus with a retrolateral spine-like embolar apophysis (vs. absent in C. javanum ), and the tip of embolus directed at 11-o’clock in ventral view (vs. 12-o’ clock in C. javanum ) (cf. Figs 2C–E View FIGURE 2 , 5B View FIGURE 5 with Figs 1C–D View FIGURE 1 , 5A View FIGURE 5 ).
Redescription. Male (holotype, Fig. 2A–B View FIGURE 2 ) in alcohol (somatic features after Thorell (1890)). Body generally black in colour with covering of white setae on surface of carapace, leg segments and dorsum of opisthosoma. Prosoma almost twice as long as its width. Fovea short, distinct. AER moderately recurved, PER slightly procurved; LEs oblong, others round ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Sternum ovate-lanceolate, covered with hairs and long setae. Opisthosoma ovate-pyriform, with dorsal scutum ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Body length 6.0. Pedipalp ( Figs 2C–F View FIGURE 2 , 5B View FIGURE 5 ): cymbium retrobasally with a paracymbial spine (lost in holotype) ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 , arrow 1). Tegulum pear-shaped, with an oblique, weak apical depression, with less coiled sperm duct with longitudinally oriented loop ( Fig. 2C–E View FIGURE 2 ). Embolus short, almost straight, slightly broad at proximally, with blunt tip, directed at 11-o’clock in ventral view, with a short retrolateral spine-like embolar apophysis directed at 2-o’clock in ventral view ( Figs 2C–E View FIGURE 2 , 5B View FIGURE 5 , arrow 2).
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Indonesia (Sumatra) ( Thorell 1890).
