Material examined: 17 3, 27 ƤƤ.
Sites: 47, 53, 110, 111, 123, 125, 151, 152, 153 ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 ).
Habitats. Maquis formations with Juniperus , ravines with Platanus and Pinus , mixed forests with Pinus and Quercus .
Altitudinal range: 110–1340 m.
Range of leg pairs recorded in Cyprus. 53–55 (3) and 53–57 (ƤƤ).
Remarks. Since the discovery of G. e a s o n i Arthur, Foddai, Kettle, Lewis, Luczynski & Minelli, 2001 and the reevaluation of G. arenarius Meinert, 1870 (Bonato & Minelli 2011) , it is now clear that there are multiple taxa within what was known until recently as a single species G. carpophagus . The range of this species-complex includes Middle and Near East, most part of Europe, Maghreb and Macaronesia (see Zapparoli & Iorio 2012). The identity of the populations in the Eastern part of this range deserves close study.
