Longitarsus monticola Kutschera 1863 (Fig. 7) and Longitarsus curtus ( Allard 1860) (Fig. 8)
L. monticola was originally described on a few specimens from Styria. Kutschera (1863: 294) reported apterism and colour differences against L. curtus . Later on, most authors considered monticola as a variety or a subspecies of curtus . First Doguet (1984: 302-303; 1994: 289-293) in careful studies of both species reported significant differences in the habitus and shape of genitalia. Döberl (1994: 110; 1995: 40-41) considered these two taxa as valid species reporting diagnostic characters based on a substantial sample.
