TYPE LOCALITY: " Chile, Cordillera de Chile."
DISTRIBUTION: Mountainous regions of W. Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and W. Bolivia; perhaps Panama.
COMMENT: T. ornatus is not known from Chile; type locality probably east of Trujillo, Libertad, Peru; see Cabrera, 1958:242.
