Der direkte Vergleich der beiden Syntypen von A. boreale mit dem Holotypus von A. ferrugator GRAVENHORST, 1829 ergab ihre Konspezifität. Der letztere Name ist seinerseits ein Synonym von Erigorgus melanobatus ( SCHNEE, 1989) .
