Diagnosis. In facies, C. rosariana is similar to C. rubigo , but C. rosariana can be distinguished mainly by the weakly expanding antrum sclerite, the straight posterior edge of the sterigma, and the weak sclerites of the ductus bursae.
Description. Wing span 14 mm. Male: Unknown. Female: Head and thorax cream brown, base of tegula brown. Forewing as in C. rubigo ; ground colour cream, suffused ferruginous in form of large dorsal blotch, creamer at costa basally, otherwise strongly suffused brown; costal strigulae indistinct; divisions brown; ocellus cream brown. Markings dark brown consisting of dorsal remnants of basal blotch and costal half of median fascia, which is broadening towards tornus. Cilia brownish. Hindwing transparent greyish brown, veins darker brown; cilia pale brownish. Genitalia ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 19 ) with sterigma small, slightly concave posteriorly; antrum sclerite expanding distally; sclerites of ductus bursae weak; folds of subgenital sternite slender, slightly bent basally; signa large.
Holotype female: " Cuba: Pinar Rio, Sierra Rosario, 400 m, 4–6.X.1989, V.O. Becker Col; Col. Becker 70686"; GS 1189 WZ.
Etymology. The name refers to the type locality: Sierra Rosario.
