Cosmetura bivittata: Mu, He & Wang, 2000 View in CoL , Acta Zootaxonomica Sinica, 25(3), 315.

Description. (Male) Body large and stout. Fastigium of vertex conical but base narrower, dorsum with a median sulcus, apex blunt; compound eyes small, anteriorly convex; maxillary palp slender, last segment longer than preceding. Metazona prolonged, longer than prozona, not considerably raised but terminal area down curved, hind margin broad rounded, paranota higher, posterior edge roundly convex somewhat, humeral sinus absent; Tegmina short, fully concealed by metazona, rarely visible in lateral view, hind wings absent; each femur unarmed, genicular lobe bearing an apical spine, but indistinct at fore and mid knee; fore tibiae with ventral spines in type of 4, 4 (1, 1), hind tibiae each with 27–28 dorsal teeth either margin and 2 pairs of apical spurs. 9th abdominal tergite expanded at posterior lateral angle, 10th abdominal tergite slightly prolonged, center of posterior area with a compressed process, the process vertically down curved, base slender, lateral margin of median third roundly lobate, apical third longitudinally cracked, apex flat and separated, cerci short and incurved, base inflated an tapering apically, apex pointed and not bifurcated; titillator sclerotized and solid, lateral margin expanded dorsally and ventrally, like the letter ‘H’ in rear view; subgenital plate broad, longer than width, gently upcurved, posterior margin angular concave, short styli on lateral angle.

(Female) Smaller. Each posterior lateral angle of 8th abdominal tergite hook like; central hind area of 10th abdominal tergite convex on surface; cerci short and conical, incurved; subgenital plate transverse, swollen ventrally, hind margin with angular incision; ovipositor short, distinctly upcurved in apical half, margin smooth without apical hook.

PICTURES 2–5. (Continued) Coloration. Body emerald green. Compound eyes gray, antenna darkish brown with pale brown sparse rings, dorsum of central vertex pale brown. Disc of pronotum with a longitudinal brown band at which metazona broaden, each inner side of band with darkish brown interrupted stripe, and each outer side of band with yellowish stripe; fore and mid knee, apex of each tibia, tarsus and claws brown, hind knee dark brown; Dorsum of abdomen with a brown median stripe, edge darker brown, terminal of each tergite also dark brown, and dark brown markings broaden at last 3 segments.

Measurements (in mm). Body ♂ 15.8, ♀ 13.2–13.5; pronotum ♂ 7.1, ♀ 6.0–6.2; tegmina ♂ 2.0, ♀ 1.7–1.8; hind femora ♂ 13.6, ♀ 13.6–14.0; ovipositor 7.3–7.9.

Type locality. Gutian Mountain, Kaihua, Zhejiang; type specimen deposits in SDU (Shandong University), Ji’nan, Shandong, China.

Discussion. This species was placed in Cosmetura based on a female. We collected males from the type locality, confirming its status. This species generally is allied to C. t-sigillata, but without remarkable markings of the vertex. The metazona of the male is not raised and the apex of the male cerci are pointed. The structure of the titillator is totally different.

Distribution. China (Zhejiang).
