Inocellia aspoeckorum Yang, 1999: 179 . [justified emendation of Inocellia aspoeckorum, ICZN Article 32(d) and Article 33(b)(ii), herewith established]. Type locality: China (Fujian: Fuzhou ).

Diagnosis. The species is characterized by the male gonocoxite 9 having a simple and ventrally curved claw processes on inner side, the complex of male gonocoxites, gonapophyses, and gonostyli 10 (parameres) ventrally bearing a slender and long distal projection, which is slightly curved dorsad and bifurcated at tip, the fused male gonocoxites 11 (gonarcus) medially with a distally bifurcated projection, ventrally with a pair of small denticulate processes, and the female sternum 7 with posterior margin truncate.

Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA: Fujian Province, Fuzhou, 8.III.1936, Mingsheng Yang ( NHM).

Additional material. 1♂ (neotype [invalid designation] of I. sinensis ), CHINA: Zhejiang Province, Lin-an, Mt. Xitianmushan 30°20'N, 119°25'E, 700 m, 8. VI .2008, Wenxuan Bi ( CAU) ; 1♂, CHINA: Fujian Province, Nanping, Yanping, Mangdangshan , Gaoping Road , 26°38'15.3''N, 118°10'55.2''E, 230 m, 6.IV.2019, Jianbin Huang ( CAU) .

Distribution. China (Fujian, Zhejiang).

Remarks. Following the above taxonomic change related to Inocellia sinensis , the name Inocellia aspoeckorum Yang, 1999 is herein restored as a valid species. The detailed description of this species can be found in U. Aspöck & H. Aspöck (1980), H. Aspöck et al. (1991), and Liu et al. (2010) under the misidentified Inocellia sinensis . It should be also noted that the type deposition of I. aspoeckorum is not located in the Insect Collection of China Agricultural University (CAU) as listed in the Neuropterida Species of the World ( Oswald 2020) but in the Natural History Museum London (NHM), although Yang (1999) did not clearly designate the type deposition of this species.
