♂. Head ( Figs 24, 25 View FIGURES 24 – 28 ) 1.7–1.8 times as wide as long; vertex in dorsal view evenly rounded; occiput and interocellar area polished and impunctate; vertex and gena weakly and finely punctate; geno-orbital index 2.1–2.5; frons impunctate and finely coriaceous, with weak median longitudinal groove, without trans-striae; face 1.3–1.5 times as wide as long, strongly and sparsely punctate; clypeus 2.1–2.5 times as wide as long, impunctate, with apical margin truncate and slightly concave medially; antenna with 41–48 flagellomeres, 1st flagellomere 1.4–1.5 times as long as 2nd, 2nd 2.5–2.9 times as long as wide.

Mesosoma ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 24 – 28 ): mesoscutum about 1.2 times as long as wide; scutellum 1.3–1.5 times as long as distance between lateral carinae at its base, lateral carina fading out at basal 1/4–2/5 of scutellum; propodeum trans-striate on basal 0.65, with sublateral crest present or absent and represented by rounded swelling.

Fore tibial spur 0.4–0.5 times as long as 1st tarsomere, which is 9.3–10.7 times as long as wide; fore tarsal claw with 16–19 pectines; hind tarsal claw with 11–15 pectines.

Fore wing ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 24 – 28 ) 2.7–2.9 times as long as wide; areolet stalked above; cu-a distad Rs&M by 1/14–1/4 of cu- a length, weakly to moderately curved or straight, vertical or reclivous; hind wing ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 24 – 28 ) with 6–8 distal hamuli; nervellar index 0.4–0.7.

Metasoma with 1st tergum 2.6–2.9 times as long as apical width and 1.3–1.5 times as long as 2nd; subgenital plate ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 29 – 34 ) short with apical margin moderately convex; paramere ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 29 – 34 ) subovoid, with subapical portion of dorsal margin slightly emarginate and dorsal margin weakly convex; digitus with dorso-apical corner rounded and with ventro-apical corner with 1–2 teeth; strip of minutely papillate cuticle long and slightly curved, situated at median portion of paramere; brace short; pad subcircular, situated at apical 1/2 of paramere near ventral margin; median subapical sclerotized plate large, produced dorso-anteriorly to form an overhang; penis valve ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 29 – 34 ) curved ventrally; basal apodeme of aedeagus strongly curved dorsally.

Head and mesosoma yellow; antenna light brown; mesoscutum with brownish stripes on each of median and lateral lobes and a brown spot situated behind median stripe; dorsal part of propodeum light brown. Legs brownishyellow; hind tarsus whitish-yellow. Wings hyaline; vein C and stigma of fore wing pale brownish-yellow, other veins blackish-brown. Metasoma light brown.

Remarks. This species belongs to the virgata group as mentioned in the remarks for comitor . This is the first record of gansuana from Japan.
