Host/Habitat. Bos taurus View in CoL (cattle), Capra hircus View in CoL (goat), Equus caballus View in CoL (horse), Oryctolagus cuniculus View in CoL (rabbit), Ovis aries View in CoL (sheep).

Distribution. Hejin, Jiangxian, Jishan, Linyi, Pinglu, Ruicheng, Wanrong, Wenxi, Xiaxian, Xinjiang, Yuanqu, Yongji, Yuncheng (Yang et al. 1997); Pingyao (Liu et al.1997); Shanxi ( Zhang et al.1991).

Remarks. Based on the latest morphological and molecular research results the genus Psoroptes contains only one species ( Zahler et al. 2000; Wall & Kolbe 2006). This species found in Shanxi was previously recorded as Acarus siro var. bovis , Acarus siro var. carprae , Acarus siro var. cuniculi , Acarus siro var. ovis , Acarus siro var. suiis , psoroptes commuis cuniculi, psoroptes commuis var. bovis and psoroptes commuis var. ovis by Zhang et al. (1991), Psoroptes communis cuniculi and Psoroptes equi (Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics), Psoroptes communis bovis by Liu et al. (1997), Psoroptes equi var. ovis by Yang et al. (1997). This genus name was recorded as Psorptes [sic] by Yang et al. (1997).
