Host/Habitat. Apis mellifera View in CoL (Western honey bee).

Distribution. Yuncheng (as Yunchen [sic]), Changzhi, Yangquan (Luo et al. 2011).

Remarks. The Tropilaelaps mite in China had long been incorrectly called Tropilaelaps clareae . Its identity was recently clarified by Luo et al. (2011). There is only one species, T. mercedesae present in China.
