Margattea limbata Bey-Beinko, 1954 View in CoL
( Figs. 1–8 View FIGURES 1 – 8 )
Margattea limbata Bey-Bienko, 1954: 9 View in CoL
Pronotum length width, 2.5 3.7mm; tegmen length, 7 mm; overall length, 9.5mm.
Yellowish brown. Head pale reddish brown with indistinct reddish brown band on vertex. Pronotal disk with a broad dark brown band, lateral border regions semi-hyaline. Legs dark brown.
Interocular space as wide as the distance between antennal sockets. Maxillary palps with the 3rd segment slightly longer than the 4th, both distinctly longer than the 5th swollen segment. Tegmina and wings fully developed extending to apex of abdomen. Wings with subcostal and costal veins clubbed on distal halves, 7–9 bifurcated; median vein simple; cubitus vein with 5 complete branches, the median bifurcated, the distal very short, apical triangle small. The front femur Type B2, tarsal claws symmetrical with subobsolete denticles on ventral margins. The eighth tergum of abdomen specialized with a group of setae near the posteromedian margin.
Supra-anal plate symmetrical, hind margin convex with a weak medial indentation. Subgenital plate weakly asymmetrical, interstylar margin convex and round, two styles slender and longer than width between them, distal halves slightly curved, left phallomere larger with 2 long spine-like processes; median phallomere curved and slim; base portion of accessory median sclerite brush-like; right phallomere with apex acute.
Specimens examined: 1male, China: Yunnan province: Xishuangbanna: Mengzhe, 1200m, 10. vii. 1958, Coll. Wang Shu-Yong.
Comments: Bey-Bienko used a single female specimen as holotype to describe the species. He stated that it was close to Margattea longealata ( Roth, 1989: 226, figs 64–72), with a dark brown spot on pronotal disk. The specimen examined above conforms to Bey-Bienko’s description, so we identify it as M. limbata .
Distribution: China: Yunnan province.
