Types. Holotype ♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Lushui County, Pianma Township, Ganfang , 26.00949°N, 98.61704°E, alt. 1780m, roadside (facing forest a riace field), 16 May 2005, Ke-ji Guo leg. ( GKJ007 ) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 1♀, Longyang County, Bawan Township , Ganlin He at Baihua Village, 24.84100ºN, 98.89140ºE, 700m, beating vegetation, 1 June 2005, Heng-mei Yan and Ke-ji Guo leg. ( GKJ035 ) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. This epithet derives from the type locality.

Diagnosis. The new species resembles Prosoponoides sinensis ( Chen, 1991) in having similar spermathecae ( Fig. 268E View FIGURE 268 ; Fig. 275C View FIGURE 275 ), but can be distinguished by the entrance grooves with three and half coils in P. longyangensis sp. nov. ( Fig. 268E View FIGURE 268 ), whereas with two and half coils in P. sinensis ( Fig. 275C View FIGURE 275 ). The parmula tongue-shaped in P. longyangensis sp. nov. ( Fig. 268C–E View FIGURE 268 ), whereas triangular in P. sinensis ( Fig. 275A–C View FIGURE 275 ).

Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 268A, B View FIGURE 268 ): Total length: 2.73. Carapace 1.13 long, 0.92 wide; cephalic region slightly elevated, brown; fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct. Clypeus 0.16 high. Sternum longer than wide,cordiform,brown,,sparsely covered with microsetae. Labium wider than long. Maxillae long, distal end broad with scopulae. Chelicerae with two promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Eyes: AER recurved, PER straight, slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.07, ALE 0.09, PME 0.08, PLE 0.09, AME–AME 0.05, PME–PME 0.08, AME–ALE, 0.06, PME–PLE 0.08, AME–PME 0.09, ALE–ALE 0.44, PLE–PLE 0.47, ALE– PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 4.91 (1.38, 1.46, 1.30, 0.77), II 4.45 (1.25, 1.36, 1.17, 0.67), III 2.85 (0.81, 0.86, 0.71, 0.47), IV 3.97 (1.21, 1.12, 1, 0.64). Leg formula III-IV-III. Tm I 0.48 and Tm IV 0.29. Tibial spine formula: 2-2-2-2. Abdomen 1.68 long, 1.26 wide, oval, blackish brown, with a longitudinal band followed by five chevrons extending posteriorly and densely covered with irregular white patches; ventral side light brown with one white patch near the base of spinnerets and three white patches on ventro-lateral sides.

Epigyne ( Fig.268C–E View FIGURE 268 ): Posteriorly with two openings of entrance grooves separated by median septum, margins curved and sclerotized. Tongue-shaped parmula extending posteriorly from the dorsal plate, with a large pit ventrally. The entrance groove opening blocked with copulatory plug (seems distal suprategular apophysis of male palp broken into both openings in this female). Vulva: longer than wide, entrance grooves started from ventral wall, with three and half coils, turning points and spermathecae present dorso-mesally on apices; spermathecae short, slightly curved; fertilization ducts long, present dorsolaterally, extending mesally.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 269 View FIGURE 269 ).
