Specimens examined. Salta: San Ramón de la Nueva Orán – Ingenio Lote Verona (23°9'45.9''S, 56°19'41.6''W), 10-V-2007, on unidentified plant (1Ψ). Tucumán: San Miguel de Tucumán – Horcomolle (26°47'36.1''S, 65°19'0.1''W), 15-V-2007, on Citrus reticulata (3Ψ, 2ɗ).
Previous records. Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru (Guanilo et al. in press).
Remarks. Females collected in this study agree with the measurements given in the original description. According with Chant & McMurtry (2005a), P. neotropicus belongs to belizensis species group by having no macroseta on genu I. However, the specimens examined in this study have a distinct macroseta on genu I.

Corrientes: Curuzú Cuatiá – Ex Ruta 14 (29°46'34.6''S, 58°4'42.8''W), 6-V-2007, on Solanum americanum (1Ψ); Curuzú Cuatiá – Ruta 14 (29°47'57''S, 58°4'42.9''W), 6-V-2007, on Solanum sp2. (1Ψ, 1 immature). Salta: San Ramón de la Nueva Orán – Río Blanco (22°57'53.7''S, 64°21'51.3''W), 10- V-2007, on Nicotiana tabacum (1Ψ).
Previous records. Argentina [Tucumán ( Furtado et al. 2007)], Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, Hawaii, Honduras, Philippines, Peru (Guanilo et al. in press), Puerto Rico, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, USA and Venezuela.
Remarks. Measurements of females collected in this study generally agree with those mentioned by Moraes & McMurtry (1983) for the holotype, except that their seta j3 and Sge IV are approximately 1.3 times longer. We consider that the specimens identified by Furtado et al. (2007) as P. cannaensis (Muma) are actually P. ovatus .
