Porphyrochroa pacaraima View in CoL sp. nov.
(Figs. 12a–i; 19b; 20)
Diagnosis: P. pacaraima sp. nov. differs from all other studied species due to the presence of eight posteroventral spine in the hind femur. Is closely related to P. grandis sp. nov. due to the presence of a anterior projection in the sternite 7. It differs by the reduced quantity of setae in the hypandrium posterior region.
Description. Male: body length 2.3 mm; wing length 2.4 mm.
Frons and face shiny black. Frons slightly narrower than width of anterior ocellus, subparallel sided, bearing three proclinate setae. Face slightly longer than frons and about half width of frons. Proboscis light-yellow, length equal to height of head. Palpus brown, with one small and almost apical seta. Ocellar tubercule FIGURE 12. Porphyrochroa pacaraima sp. nov., holotype male: a, Tergites 6–8, dorsal view; b, Sternites 6–8, dorsal view; c, Terminalia, lateral view; d, Hypandrium, phallus, cercus and subepandrial sclerite, lateral view; e, Epandrium, lateral view; f, Ejaculatory apodeme, anterior view; g, Hypandrium, posterior view; h, Cercus, dorsal view; i, Subepandrial sclerite, ventral view. Abbreviation: a cerc, anterior cercus; cerc, cercus; ej apod, ejaculatory apodeme; goncx apod, gonocoxal apodeme; hypd, hypandrium; p cerc, posterior cercus; ph, phallus; sbepand scl, subepandrial sclerite; ST, sternite; T, tergite; vpc, ventral projection of cercus.
with dark-brown ocellus; two ocellar setae; two postocellar setae. Antenna with scape, pedicel and basal fifth of flagellum yellow, remaining segments brown; scape and pedicel medially verticillate; flagellum about four times longer than scape and pedicel combined. Postcranium shiny brown, with distinct brown setae and gray pruinescence; one pair of parallel vertical setae; postocellar setae distinct, brown, arranged in complete single serie. Gena and postgena with brown setae and sparse gray pruinescence. Thorax shiny brown, with conspicuous postsutural gray pruinescence. Thoracic setae: 4 slender ktg; 4 sctl, larger internal pair; 1 aprn; prepm broken; 3 pprn; 3 acr; 4 dc; 1 spal presut; 1 spal psut; 3 ntpl; 1 pal. Fore, mid and hind legs, yellow with brown tarsi; hind femur with eight posteroventral spines and four spines anteroventral in the distal half. All legs with short distinct setae. Wing hyaline with conspicuous pterostigma; anal lobe slightly wide; R2+3 little curved ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 19 b). Halter brown. Abdomen shiny dark-brown, with metallic blue luster in diverse light incidence angles. Sternites shiny brown. Tergite 7 with pair of posteroventral protuberances (Fig. 12a); tergite 8 with lateral forward projection (Fig. 12a); sternite 6 with posterior projection in lateral and dorsal views (Fig. 12b); sternite 7 inclined in lateral view, with anterior projection in lateral and dorsal views (Figs. 12b; c). Terminalia: hypandrium with two long posterior setae (Figs. 12d; g); epandrium wider ventrally than dorsally, with long setae (Fig. 12e). Cercus elongate in lateral view (Fig. 12d), with internal ventral projection in dorsal view (Fig. 12h); ejaculatory apodeme with three projections in anterior view (Fig. 12f); subepandrial sclerite with base and apex with proportional sizes (Fig. 12i).
