Oliveira (1885) refer this species from Coimbra and later ( Oliveira, 1893) from BraganÇa, Caldas da Felgueira and Coimbra. Oliveira (1899) records this species as Sunius angustatus Paykull. Barros (1913 , 1924) records this species as Astenus angustatus Paykull from S. Martinho de Anta. Fuente (1922) quotes Oliveira. Ferreira (1962) records this species as Astenus angustatus Paykull without locality. Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) report this species from Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Douro Litoral, Beira Litoral, and also from Estremadura, but this last province needs confirmation as no previous record was found. Ferreira (2021) mentions 9 specimens from the Ramiro Neves collection: 1 from Monte Córdova, 1 from Penamaior, and 7 with the Nr. 44.

Distribution: Known from Europe, North Africa, west and east Siberia, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Turkey (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).

Barros (1913) recorded this species from Anta. Fuente (1922) quotes Barros. Not listed for Portugal by Sch̡lke & Smetana (2015). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) misreport the species from Douro Litoral,

as the locality cited by Barros (1913) belongs to Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro.

Distribution: This species is known from Europe, Algeria, Iran, and Turkey (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).
