Genus Chalumalna Boulard, 2001 View in CoL
Chalumalna martinensis Boulard 2001: 83 View in CoL .
Type species. Chalumalna martinensis Boulard 2001: 84 View in CoL ( Paradise Peak , Isle of Saint-Martin, Archipelago of the small Antilles).
Remarks. The genus was erected along with a new species from the French Antilles. It was assigned to the Taphurini based on several generalized structures and body ratios ( Boulard 2001). It was compared to the genus Abricta Stål, 1866 which was reassigned to the Lamotialnini Boulard, 1976 ( Marshall et al. 2018). The Taphurini has been an historic place to assign small species of uncertain position so the lack of genital images or descriptions leaves the placement of the genus in question.
Diagnosis. The description ( Boulard 2001) is abbreviated and provided here using current terminology. Head slightly wider than mesonotum; postclypeus apex obtuse or rounded with a notch, frons equal to vertex in length and entirely embedded between the supra-antennal plates. In the fore wings, basal cell about five times longer than wide; radiomedial crossvein moderately oblique. In the thorax, mesonotum almost twice as long as pronotum; metasternum strongly bulges and occupying the entire interopercular space.
