Zammara nigriplaga Walker, 1858a View in CoL
Zammara nigriplaga Walker 1858a: 44 View in CoL (South America).
Remarks. Walker (1858a) reported the type specimen as originating in South America. Goemans (2016) described the label associated with the type specimen with “Antioq” written along with “mas” and attributed this to Antioquia, Colombia and the male gender of the type specimen. Distant (1906) appears to have mistakenly transcribed the label as Antigua which Metcalf (1963a) then attributed to Antigua Island in the Lesser Antilles. Based on the known distribution of the species ( Goemans 2016), the species is considered to have been mistakenly attributed to an island in the Lesser Antilles and is removed from the fauna.
Distribution. The species is known from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama ( Goemans 2016).
